Highlights of East Java and Ubud

  • Day 1: Arrival in Surabaya and transfer to Bromo

    Arrive at Surabaya International Airport, where your local guide will warmly welcome you. After a scenic 3-hour drive, check into your hotel near Mount Bromo. Spend the rest of the day unwinding and preparing for the exciting journey ahead.

  • Day 2: Bromo Sunrise and transfer to Banyuwangi

    Start your day early at 03:00 AM for a once-in-a-lifetime experience—watching the sunrise over Mount Bromo's otherworldly landscape. A 4WD jeep will take you to a panoramic viewpoint, where you’ll witness the majestic Bromo volcano bathed in the glow of the morning light. Descending by jeep into the Bromo Caldera, often shrouded in mist, creating an almost lunar-like atmosphere. If you wish, take a horseback ride (optional) to the base of the crater and climb the stairs leading to the volcano’s rim for a close-up view of its dramatic landscape. After this awe-inspiring morning, return to the hotel for breakfast. Then, journey towards Banyuwangi, stopping for lunch along the way.

  • Day 3: Ijen Crater Exploration

    Prepare for an early morning adventure! At 03:00 AM, depart for the Ijen Nature Reserve. After arriving at the Paltuding Ranger Post, embark on a 3-kilometer trek (approximately 90 minutes) to the rim of Ijen Crater. As the sun rises, witness the stunning panorama of the crater and its sulfur lake—a scene straight out of a dream. After taking in the breathtaking views, trek back down and return to the hotel for breakfast and relaxation. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure amidst Banyuwangi’s natural beauty. Optional: For an extraordinary experience, opt for an earlier departure to witness the famous Blue Fire at Mount Ijen. (extra local cost)

  • Day 4: Banyuwangi to Ubud and cross to Bali

    After breakfast, drive to Ketapang Harbor, where you’ll board a ferry and cross over to Bali Island, arriving at Gilimanuk. En route to Ubud, visit the sacred Rambut Siwi Temple, a spiritual haven overlooking the Indian Ocean. Enjoy lunch along the way before arriving in the cultural heart of Bali, Ubud, where you can rest and explore at your leisure.

  • Day 5: Ubud and Kintamani Tour

    Begin the day with a visit to the sacred Tirtha Empul Temple, renowned for its holy water springs and deep spiritual significance in Balinese culture. Continue your journey to Kintamani, where you’ll take in the spectacular views of Mount Batur and Lake Batur. After a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, visit the iconic Tegalalang Rice Terraces, famous for their intricate, terraced landscape and traditional Balinese irrigation system known as Subak. Your final stop will be the Ubud Monkey Forest, a sanctuary home to hundreds of playful long-tailed macaques. In the evening, celebrate your last night in Ubud with a Farewell Dinner, reflecting on the unforgettable experiences of the past week.

  • Day 6: Departure from Bali
