Pick up by the driver guide, safari briefing and drive north via Nanyuki and Mount Kenya to reach Samburu Game Reserve. The Reserve offers a wide range of attractions. It is home to the Samburu tribe who are also pastoralists. Ewaso Ng’iro river which runs along the southern boundary is home to crocodile and hippo with the many animals visiting to drink during the heat of the day.
Arrive at the camp, check in followed by lunch. In the afternoon enjoy game drive at the reserve until sundown. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight.
Three full days spent exploring the reserve which provides some of the best and most colourful game viewing in the country.
Ololokwe Table Mountain forms a dramatic backdrop to our game viewing. Samburu is also home to the third of Kenya’s giraffe species – the rare Reticulated Giraffe (only found in the Northern parks). It is also home to the blue-legged Somali Ostrich, the long-necked Gerenuk gazelle and the straight-horned Beisa Oryx antelope. All meals at the camp.
Early breakfast and transfer to the airstrip. Fly into the heart of Masai Mara National Reserve from Samburu, having a view of the beauty of the park, Masai Mara offers a variety of wonderful scenery and plenty of game. Explore the plains and rolling hills for a chance to spot the elephant, black-manned lion, leopard, buffalo, cheetah, and with diverse species of hoofed animals.
Arrive at the airstrip, meet by the driver guide and transfer to the camp for lunch.
In the evening enjoy game drive at the reserve until sundown. Dinner and overnight stay.
Four full days spent game-viewing in the reserve. Morning and afternoon game drives will take you closer to nature.
Covering an area of over 1,500 square km, the Masai Mara National Reserve is one of the most popular tourism destinations in Kenya. The reserve is located between the Great Rift Valley and Lake Victoria in primarily open grasslands. The swampy land provides more access to water and less access to tourists. The eastern end is closest to Nairobi and hence easier to access by tourists.
The Masai Mara is regarded as the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife viewing areas. There have been some 95 species of mammals, amphibians and reptiles and over 400 bird species recorded on the reserve. Nowhere in Africa is wildlife more abundant, and it is for this reason a visitor hardly misses to see the big five (buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, and rhino).
All meals and overnight at the camp.
Leisurely breakfast at the camp and check out.
Game drive en- route, exit the gate and drive back to Nairobi.
Arrive and transfer to the Airport for your flight back home.
