Travel Itinerary
DAY 1
Arrival to Algiers and transfer to Djanet
Welcome to Algeria! Your adventure begins at Algiers’ airport, followed by a national airport transfer. We will board a direct flight from Algiers to Djanet at 23:00, arriving at 01:15. Upon landing in Djanet, you’ll be transferred to our guide’s guest house for the night.
DAY 2
The dunes of Erg Admer
After breakfast, you’ll set out in a rugged 4×4 vehicle, heading through Djanet to complete all the necessary formalities for your visit to the national park. In the afternoon, embark on a brief walking tour through the mesmerizing Erg Admer, where you’ll encounter endless dunes. As the day draws to a close, you’ll ascend to the summit of a dune, witnessing a captivating desert sunset, before settling into your first tent camp beneath the shimmering stars.
DAY 3
Essendilène's Magic Canyon and Ancient Rock Gravures
In the morning, you’ll make a swift transfer in a 4×4 vehicle. Your day continues with an enchanting walking tour through the mystical Essendilène canyon, leading you to its mesmerizing guelta. In the afternoon, venture to explore the rock gravures of Didier, situated nearby Tin Taghirt. The day’s adventures conclude as you retire to your tent camp, ready to immerse yourself in the desert’s tranquil embrace.
DAY 4
Gueltas, Picnics, and Zeriba Houses in Iherir
Embark on a captivating excursion to the village of Idaren, a journey that takes you via the picturesque Anaref plateau. Along the way, you’ll encounter the breathtaking beauty of more than five stunning gueltas, perfect for a picturesque picnic by their tranquil watersides. Upon leaving the guelta, your path leads you to the village of Iherir, where you’ll marvel at the unique Zeriba houses, characterized by their distinctive small, round stone structures.
DAY 5
Vibrant Dunes and Enigmatic Rock Formations in Tisras
Set off in a 4×4 vehicle for Djanet, where your journey continues in the afternoon with an exploration of Tisras. This locale is renowned for its vivid orange dunes and awe-inspiring rock formations that boast intricate and diverse shapes. As the day transitions into evening, you’ll establish a comfortable tent camp and relish a delectable couscous dinner amid this captivating desert landscape.
DAY 6
Discover Tassili N'Ajjer's Ancient Art and Desert Heights
Embark on an early-morning expedition to the renowned plateau of Tassili N’Ajjer, where you’ll ascend rocks with an impressive elevation difference of approximately 650 meters. Immerse yourself in the rich history of this area with visits to stunning rock paintings. As the day unfolds, you’ll establish a tent camp in Timras, providing a comfortable base amid the desert’s beauty. Alternatively, you can opt to replace this excursion with a journey to Iherir or a captivating exploration of a sand and rock landscape.
DAY 7
Djanet Delights and Desert's Farewell
Explore Djanet in all its splendour, including its lush gardens, historic old town, and a relaxing soak in a Moorish spa. Conclude your desert adventure with a night at the final tent camp, situated alongside the renowned rock engraving, “La vache qui pleure” (The Crying Cow).
DAY 8
Departure from Djanet and transfer to Algiers
In the morning, enjoy a visit to the bustling Djanet souk for any last-minute purchases, soaking in the local culture. Afterward, embark on a transfer to Djanet airport for your 12:20 p.m. flight, arriving in Algiers at 3:40 p.m. Once in Algiers, transition to your international airport transfer for your return flight home.
