Jakarta to Bandung
On your journey to Bandung, discover the stunning Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, a culture-based recreational area showcasing the diversity of Indonesia. Then head to Bogor – known for its famous botanical garden. Continue on to Bandung, passing beautiful scenery of tea plantations. Stay
the next two nights in Bandung.
DAY 3
Bandung
Start with an early morning drive to Ciwidey; travel uphill through strawberry fields to the tranquil Situ Patenggang. Continue onto Kawah Putih, a crater containing snow white shallow water from natural springs. As you return to the bustling city, take in the magnificent views of the rolling hills and tea plantations.
DAY 4
Bandung to Yogyakarta
Gain a fascinating insight into the colonial city of Bandung as you explore the historic area of Braga. Later this afternoon, transfer to Bandung airport for your onward flight to Yogyakarta. On arrival, be transferred to your
hotel. Stay the next two nights in Yogyakarta.
DAY 5
Yogyakarta
Begin your discovery of Yogyakarta with a journey to the historic Kraton, before venturing to the famous water castle. Later, participate in a hands-on workshop in the traditional Indonesian technique of batik. Then visit the spectacular Borobudur Buddhist temple, one of the largest Buddhist shrines in the world. Enjoy the serene surroundings at sunset from above.
DAY 6
Yogyakarta to Solo
Today, visit Prambanan, one of the most beautiful Hindu temples in the world, also known as Rara Jonggrang. Continue on to the historic royal capital, Solo. Start your explorations of this historic city with a visit to the Royal Mangkunegaran Palace, which blends European elegance with Javanese architectural style. Overnight in Solo.
DAY 7
Solo to Bromo
Depart Solo and journey by train to Mojokerto, passing through Java’s countryside of endless teak forests and lush
scenery. Overnight in Bromo.
DAY 8
Bromo to Jember
Rise early to experience Mt Penanjakan at sunrise, with sublime panoramic views from 2,700 metres above. Journey along the coastline on horseback to Mt Bromo. Admire the spectacular sites from the active volcano, before travelling over mountains and through local villages to reach Jember.
DAY 9
Jember to Ijen
Begin the day at a traditional market before continuing onto the town of Kalibaru to admire the array of tropical spices at a local plantation. Later, continue the journey to the
festive town of Banyuwangi.
DAY 10
Ijen to Gilimanuk Harbour
Rise early as you depart for Mt Ijen volcano, known for its electric-blue flames which come from burning sulphur at night. Travel through rural villages, coffee and clove
plantations into one of Java’s rainforests to admire the stunning view from 2388 metre altitude. Later this afternoon, transfer to Ketapang port to board the ferry to
Gilimanuk.
