Itinerary

Day 1: Kolkata

On arrival in Kolkata be transferred to your hotel. Stay the next two nights at Taj Bangal.


Day 2: Kolkata

Today, explore the vibrant city of Kolkata starting with Howrah Bridge, located over the Hoogli River is said to be the busiest bridge of the world. Later, venture to the flower Market, underneath Howrah Bridge and
one of the Asia’s largest wholesale flower markets. Thousands of people gather here daily to buy and sell flowers and plants. Next, Victoria Memorial, a splendid architectural structure which was built in the early 20th Century in memory of Queen Victoria. (B)


Day 3: Kolkata to M.V Mahabaahu Cruise

This morning, fly to Guwahati, upon arrival visit Kamakhya Temple before continuing on to Pandu Port where you will embark the MV Mahabaahu River cruise. Stay the next seven nights on board M.V Mahabaahu cruise. (BD


Day 4: M.V Mahabaahu Cruise

This morning, sail up to Assam and visit a local village, here you will gain a deeper knowledge for its geographical location in the national and international context and how it is acclaiming recognition. Return to the boat for a free afternoon. (BLD)


Day 5: M.V Mahabaahu Cruise

Enjoy a leisurely morning before reaching Silghat. Take a short drive to Kaliabor Tea Estate which is a vast expanse of undulating estate with tea bushes, watching the tribal women pick tea leaves. After an early dinner aboard we retire for the evening. (BLD)


Day 6: M.V Mahabaahu Cruise

Disembark the cruise and enjoy a jeep safari at Kaziranga National Park. Take this time to search for local wildlife perhaps spot a one-horned rhinoceros or a wild buffalo. Later, return to the cruise and continue to the shores of Biswanath Ghat. Enjoy a walk through the local village and see how this suburban village thrives. Overnight onboard M.V Mahabaahu. (BLD)


Day 7: M.V Mahabaahu Cruise

This morning, sail towards the Eastern Range of Kaziranga for a boat Safari, gain an insight into local wildlife and that exists alongside the river. This evening enjoy a Cooking Demonstration as well as sample the snacks followed by a leisurely evening on a deserted island with along with a bonfire. (BLD)


Day 8: M.V Mahabaahu Cruise

After breakfast, land at the country village of Mishing. The Mishings live on the bank of river in ‘Chang ghars’, houses with a raised platform. Enjoy a traditional Assamese evening on board. (BLD)


Day 9: M.V Mahabaahu Cruise

After breakfast, proceed to a scenic corner of a Satra for an interesting cultural performance by Satriya singers and dancers. Continue with a drive through the countryside to reach Sibsagar, the ancient city of the Ahom Kings. Enjoy a afternoon free at leisure on board the cruise. (BLD)

Day 10: M.V Mahabaahu Cruise to Kolkata

This morning, go for a nature walk along the swamps before disembarking your cruise for your onward flight to Kolkata. Overnight at Taj Bangal. (B)

Day 11: Kolkata

Enjoy breakfast before being transferred to the airport for your onward journey. (B)
