Itinerary

Day 1: Colombo to Kotugoda

On arrival in Colombo be transferred to Kotugoda. Overnight at Watura Resort.

Day 2: Kotugoda to Anuradhapura

This morning visit the Lellama fishing village near the Old Dutch Gate. The large open air fish market is the second largest in the country. Later, continue on to Anuradhapura. Stay the next two nights at Ullagalla. (B)

Day 3: Anuradhapura

Explore the sacred city and tour the ancient ruins of the 4th century BC capital. Visit the Sri Maha Bodhi, said to be the oldest documented tree in the world. (B)

Day 4: Anuradhapura to Sigiriya

Today you will travel to Sigiriya, also known as the 8th wonder of the world via the ancient city of Polonnaruwa – The Island’s medieval capital. Stay the next two nights at Water Garden Sigiriya. (B)

Day 5: Sigiriya

Explore the iconic Sigiriya Lion Rock – a fortress complex of a ruined palace and one of the World Heritage sites declared by UNESCO. Undoubtedly the most treasured historical monument in Sri Lanka and probably the most visited tourist destinations in Sri Lanka. Later, enjoy a jeep safari in Minneriya National Park – a national park in the North Central Province of Sri Lanka. The park was declared a wild life sanctuary in order to protect the watershed of Minneriya tank and the wildlife of the surrounding area. (B)

Day 6: Sigiriya to Kandy

Explore the rock cave temples of Dambulla before travelling to Kandy. Enjoy a cultural show and visit the temple of the sacred tooth relic. Stay the next two nights at Elephant Stable. (B)

Day 7: Kandy

Discover Kandy on a full day city tour including beautiful Peradeniya Botanical Garden. This evening, enjoy a traditional cultural Performances. (B)

Day 8: Kandy to Hatton

Travel to Hatton by road. Almost every available hillside is bright with tea bushes trimmed so neatly that, from a distance, the hills look as if they’re covered with a thick- pile rug. Providing cool relief from the heat of the plains, the mornings are usually veiled in a mist that slowly dissipates to reveal the curious pyramidal bulk of Adam’s Peak to the southwest. Stay the next two nights at Ceylon Tea Trails. (B)

Day 9: Hatton

Enjoy the Tea trails experience tour and learn about the region’s tea growing industry and living heritage of Sri Lanka. (B)

Day 10: Hatton to Yala

Travel to Yala, Sri Lanka’s oldest national park which is located in the south-east corner of Sri Lanka. Stay the next two nights at Wild Coast Tented Lodge. (B)

Day 11: Yala

Rise early as you enjoy a Jeep safari in Yala National Park – The terrain is varied, flat plains alternating with rocky outcrops. The vegetation ranges from open parkland to dense jungle a must for any wildlife enthusiast with the specialty being the large number of Elephants, Deer, Wild Boar and Sāmbhar. (B)

Day 12: Yala to Bentota

This morning, embark on the journey to Galle. The walled city has stood since the early sixteenth century through the colonial periods. Enjoy a visit to Galle Fort and its surrounding city, before continuing on to Bentota. Stay the next two nights at Saman Villas. (B)

Day 13: Bentota

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel, followed by a free day at leisure in your spectacular beach resort. (B)

Day 14: Bentota to Colombo

Venture from Bentota to Colombo, the country’s capital. In the afternoon, experience the hustle and bustle of the commercial area of Fort and drive past the noisy bazaar area of Pettah. Visit the Wolvendaal Dutch Church, built in 1749, and drive through the Cinnamon Gardens.Overnight at Uga Residence. (B)

Day 15: Colombo

Enjoy breakfast before being Yala transferred to the airport for 2 your onward journey. (B)
