Travel Itinerary
DAY 1
Welcome to Seoul
Meet your guide at Incheon airport and take a private transger to Holiday Inn Epress Hongdae where you will stay for the next three nights. Enjoy a traditional welcome Korean dinner and performance to meet your fellow travellers.
DAY 2
Seoul
Today you will visit the main sights of Seoul starting with the Gyeonbok Palace, the mail palace of the Joseon Dynasty. After lunch visit the 600 year old Bukchon Hanok Village before ending the day with views over Seoul from the 236 metre tall N Seoul Tower.
DAY 3
Seoul to DMZ
Take a day tour to the DMZ that divides North and South Korea and visit Imjinggak Park, Freedom Village, the DMZ Theatre, North Korea’s Infiltration Tunnel and the Dora Oberservation Post. Return to Seoul in the afternoon to visit the poignant but extensive War Memorial Of Korea before returning to the hotel for a free evening.
DAY 4
Seoul to Jeonju
Depart Seoul this morning for the UNESCO Hwaseong Fortress before an included lunch. On the way to Jeonju, stop at the architecturally dramatic Independence Hall of Korea in Cheonan. Enjoy a free evening in Jeonju on arrival.
DAY 5
Jeonju
This morning spend time at the peaceful Gyeonggijeon Shrine before having the opportunity to learn how to create one of the most famous culinary dishes of Korea, Bibimbap. The rest of the afternoon is spent enjoying the scenic Jejonju Hanok Village.
DAY 6
Jeonju to Tongyeoung
Today will be spent in Gurye experiencing and learning about Temple Life in Korea. This will include a Temple Tour, Yebul or Ceremonial Service, tea time with a monk and temple food for lunch. Continue on to Tongyeong where you will visit the artistic Dongpirang Wall Painting Village and bustling Tongyeong Central Market. (B, L, D)
DAY 7
Tongyeoung to Busan
Start you day with a transfer to Geoje-do to visit the historic POW camp that held over 170,000 prisoners during the Korean War. Have a photo stop at the windmill on Windy Hill before transfering to Koreas second biggest city, Busan and it’s famous Haeundae Beach.
DAY 8
Busan to Gyeongju
Spend this morning visiting the main attractions of Busan including the UN Memorial Cemetary, Busan Tower at Yongdusan Park and the Jagalchi Fish Market. Visit the spectacular seaside temple of Haedong Yonggungsa before travelling to Gyeongju where you will spend the next two nights.
DAY 9
Gyeongju
A full day exploring Gyeongju the old capital city of the Shilla Kingdom including the UNESCO World Heritage Bulgksa Temple and Seogguram Grotto. After an included lunch visit the Gyeongju National Museum to see the treasures of the Shilla Kingdom and the tomb mounds of Tumuli Park. End the day with an evening visit to Donggung Palace and Woji Pond.
DAY 10
Gyeongju to Seoul
Transfer back to Seoul today in comfort about the KTX Korean Bullet Train. Once back in Seoul the afternoon where you could maybe do some last minute shopping in one of Seoul’s famous districts. End your tour with a farewell Korean BBQ to say goodbye to your new friends.
DAY 11
Depart Seoul
It’s time to say goodbye, but just think of all the wonderful stories you will take home. A transfer will take you to the airport for your onward travels.
